[ He sees that smile drop, and hears the hushed whisper just fine, but still he leans in and replies low. ]
Yes, but they rarely come into the city. Full moons are their only bad nights. Don't fear it; it is not likely you will cross paths with one unless you meet my friend Jack somehow, and he is a good fellow, I assure you.
[ Yeah, probably a good idea not to tell her about the Monstermetropolis under the city he helped found.]
I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend you or your friends it's just a little bit strange and scary to suddenly learn that everything you thought was just in horror movies is real.
Do not worry, you have not offended me. I know how strange it can be. I, too, believed in none of this before my accident. I was a man of science; it would have been rather strange to, don't you think?
[ Standing he offered the clawed hand her way. ]
Come, if you still wish. Let's take your mind off that and let you see the best view of the city.
Of course. [ A promising tone offered. Moving his arms around her to hold her against him. Slowly lifting them up just about two inches, hovering off the ground. ] Please do let me know if you get scared and want down.
[It feels weird, having her arms around a stranger who also happens to be a vampire and when he slowly lifts them up she squeaks in surprise and clutches tighter.]
Oh my god oh my god!
[She is scared but that's just in the moment and because it's new and she forces herself to not demand to be let down and eventually the fear passes.]
Okay....ooookay. [She breathes and then smiles at him.] Okay, maybe a little higher?
[ He doesn't seem phased at all, but touching strangers becomes something you get used to with his condition. He even managed a light chuckle when she clutched tighter. The arms around her not moving at all. ]
Alright, here we go. [ This time he lifted them about three feet off the ground, moving through the air as if they weighed nothing to hover over the bench just to give her a little more security while she adjusted.]
[ Despite the hollow bones that come with what he is, the squeezing doesn't bother him. He's grinning again, slowly lifting them higher to give her time to say no if he doesn't want to go too high. ]
I am glad you are enjoying it. I don't get to share this with many. Would you like to go faster? Higher? Ladies choice.
I must admit, it is one of the few highlights of what I have become.
[ The wind was starting to pick up just a little, but it didn't do much besides ruffle clothes and hair as they hovered over the treeline. ]
Rush hour traffic is no longer an issue. [ He teased lightly.] Alright, want me to lower us back or glide a bit over the trees? Whatever you want. We will do.
I am a hematologist and biochemist, I work with a lot of rare blood born illnesses looking for cures. Though my condition is always a focus of my research. I hope to one day return to being a normal human. But for now, I can except helping others who are ill.
[ Without asking, be playfully spins them around as if a small dance above the trees. ]
No problem at all!

[A pause as she laughs shakily.]

What? You mean....right now?
I mean...how high are we going to go?
no subject
[ He kept the hand extended.]
As high as you are comfortable with. I doubt you will want to go as high as I could take us.

[She says but tentatively extends her hand towards his.]

[ He extends his hand a little more to take hold of hers. For a vampire, he's got a warm hand. ]
Step closer, and wrap your arms around my shoulders. Alright?
[ At least he's only 5'10. ]

Maybe we could...uh start at a very low height? An inch or two???

[She cheers and starts to giggle as she looks down at their feet and how high they are going.]

Glad to hear you enjoying yourself, Miss Clark.

[She notices that they've gone over the treetops and swallows again.]
But uh maybe we can stop here?

Let's go over the trees a little bit.

[ Even letting go of his neck with one arm, she was still held securely in place by his arms. Moving them backwards a little faster atop the trees. ]
If you look that way, [ He motioned his head to the side.] You will see a lovely view of some of the skyscrapers.
no subject
Do you often do this? Just float around to see the view?
no subject
Mostly these days I just sit on top of skyscrapers and watch the city. It is much quieter that high up.

I am what you may call a workaholic. While I do get out, it is not often without purpose. I spent most of my time working on my research.
