[She cheers and starts to giggle as she looks down at their feet and how high they are going.]

[ That gets a chuckle from him as he keeps lifting them higher and higher, finally passing the treetops. ]

Glad to hear you enjoying yourself, Miss Clark.

Are you serious? This is brilliant!!

[She notices that they've gone over the treetops and swallows again.]

But uh maybe we can stop here?

I must admit, it is one of the few highlights of what I have become.

[ The wind was starting to pick up just a little, but it didn't do much besides ruffle clothes and hair as they hovered over the treeline. ]

Rush hour traffic is no longer an issue. [ He teased lightly.] Alright, want me to lower us back or glide a bit over the trees? Whatever you want. We will do.

[She weighs her options and then dares to let go of his neck with one of her hands, motioning towards the trees.]

Let's go over the trees a little bit.

Of course.

[ Even letting go of his neck with one arm, she was still held securely in place by his arms. Moving them backwards a little faster atop the trees. ]

If you look that way, [ He motioned his head to the side.] You will see a lovely view of some of the skyscrapers.

[She turns her head to look at the view he is motioning to, her eyes widening a little at how pretty the city looks.]

Do you often do this? Just float around to see the view?

When I first learned how to, yes. Not much, anymore.

Mostly these days I just sit on top of skyscrapers and watch the city. It is much quieter that high up.

That's what you do for fun?

No, that is just where I go to think.

[ A bit of a guilty look crosses his face.]

I am what you may call a workaholic. While I do get out, it is not often without purpose. I spent most of my time working on my research.

What kind of research do you do? Is it all about your...uh science vampire condition?

I am a hematologist and biochemist, I work with a lot of rare blood born illnesses looking for cures. Though my condition is always a focus of my research. I hope to one day return to being a normal human. But for now, I can except helping others who are ill.

[ Without asking, be playfully spins them around as if a small dance above the trees. ]

[She opens her mouth to respond but it's cut short by a flurry of excited giggles when he spins them around in the air.]

That's very kind of you, to help others.

[She says once he's done turning them.]

You must have gotten a lot of schooling to be so good at it.

[ That giggle clearly lightens his mood some; that smile is back in place for a moment. ]

Well, I would say it helps with the guilt, but truth be told, I always wanted to help others even before.

[ He shrugged a little, keeping her still safely in his arms while they floated in place for now. ]

Well, yes, but not as long as many might think. I have a doctorate and a few PhDs. I started college younger than most.

[ While often people might expect him to brag about the Nobel he won before his experiment, he rarely alludes to it himself. It felt like a lifetime ago.]

Care to dance? [ He asked playfully. ] And perhaps tell me what brought you to the city?

[She huffs air out over her lip, making a soft 'pffft' noise and rolls her eyes playfully at him.]

Oh just a few PhDs, nothing fancy. How young were you when you went college? Wait, let me guess....sixteen?

[She then laughs.]

I thought we were dancing already. And I guess adventure brought me here.

[ He chuckled at that; it had been so long since he had been this at ease around a stranger. ]

Well, I have always been told it is rude to brag, but yes. Somewhere around there, closer to fifteen if I am remembering correctly.

[ Of course, he was one of those kinds of geniuses.

At her reply, he gave a playful look. As playful as someone with red eyes and fangs can be. And started to sway them around in almost a mock ballroom dance above the trees. ]

I would think this to be more of a dance, wouldn't you? Though, you have me curious, Miss Clark, what kinds of adventures were you seeking?

I think I'm the wrong person to ask about that, most of the dancing I've done has been on the ground and in the club. I haven't really done much ballroom stuff.

[She admits with a laugh.]

And I'm not really sure, just kind of adventure in general. I've lived my whole life in the same small town and now I have the funds to travel and explore so I'm doing it.

I know very little about dancing of most kinds, I confess.

[ Mostly just swaying and small turns in the sky. A small attempt at a playful dance. It was nice to get to be a little more playful than life usually allowed.]

That is understandable, more so with having the funds now. What things do you like to do? New York is the city where you can do most anything, I have discovered in my years here.

Well you seem to be a natural at it.

[Or maybe that's just because they're in the air and he can't step on her tones, it's hard to say.]

This is going to sound rather silly but I don't really know. [She says and gives him a guilty little smile.] I used to just get up, go to work, hang out with my boyfriend and then go to bed. So I guess I'm trying to figure that part out as well.

I am almost certain if we were on the ground, it would be more obvious, but thank you.

[ Yeah, no one wanted those boots he wore stepping on their toes, much les scuffing such cute shoes.]

It doesn't sound silly at all to me. I was much the same way, aside from nights my ex and best friend would drag me out. Now, I simply know this city as well as I do due to affiliations with others. Perhaps, if you are interested, another day I can show you around some of the more enjoyable parts of the city.

Speaking of the ground, I think I'm ready to go back down to it.

[She says with a little smile.]

And I'd love that actually! I've tried to explore a few times and just wind up getting lost and overwhelmed so I'd appreciate having someone who can show me around.

[ He starts to lower them back down, just a bit faster than when they went up.]

[Her grip tightens a little at the increase in speed but when they are back on the ground she's all smiles.]

[ Once they are on the ground, he lifts the bag he had put down earlier to put it back over his shoulder. A playful bow given, he did so love to play up the horror tropes when he was in a good mood. ]

[ He almost went back up in the air; instead, he gave a small wave and started down the sidewalk in the direction he had flown from originally.]
